About New York Photography | Charles Ludeke
Hey there! I’m Charles. I’m a New York-based freelance photographer whose work focuses on storytelling and connecting people.
I got my degree in photojournalism at the University of Missouri. There, the essential tenets of my education were honest emotion and intimacy. I try to build a relationship with the people I photograph. It’s important to have a connection with people that I meet. I love getting to know new folks and learning about them.
I strive to show a person’s personality in my work. It’s important to me to not only make a good picture, but to make a photograph that shows the essence of who someone is.
My story, “Rebuilding Strength” received a Silver Medal in the Domestic Picture Story category in College Photographer of the Year. My work has also been recognized by the Hearst Journalism Awards Program. Please don’t hesitate to contact me about using my work or hiring me to make your photograph:
